Two people were transported to area hospitals on the morning of Feb. 23 following a single vehicle rollover accident.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, the outbound lanes of the Glenn Highway at the North Birchwood exit were briefly closed.
APD received a report at 2:20 a.m. Feb. 23 of a single vehicle rollover. The initial call indicated that a man was lying in the middle of the road.
Officers discovered a white Saturn SUV that had apparently lost control at the North Birchwood exit and flipped.
According to APD the driver, a 23-year-old Cesar Meza Jr., was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The passenger, a 21-year-old female, remained inside the vehicle. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The highway was fully open by 4:30 a.m.
The accident is under investigation.
