James (Jim) P. Krafft, 64
Longtime Alaskan, James (Jim) P. Krafft, 64, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2014 at Morton General Hospital, Morton, Wash.
A celebration of his life will be held in Alaska at a later date.
Jim was born Nov. 22, 1949, in Port Huron, Mich. He moved to Alaska with his family in 1963 and graduated from Chugiak High School in 1968. He retired with the IBEW as a journeyman electrician.
He had recently moved to Washington to be closer to his daughters.
His family said, “Jim lived the Alaskan dream, building his own log home, hunting, fishing and piloting his own planes. He enjoyed teaching his children how to hunt and fish.”
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Waite; father, Donald P. Krafft; and brother, Daniel M. Krafft.
He is survived by his daughters, Amanda R. Krafft and Leah M. Krafft; his son, James P. Krafft Jr.; sister, Susan Krafft; brother, Rick Krafft; grandsons, Michael and Jake; and nephews, Joel, Trevor and Kevin.
