Aglow ministry expands to serve men

Wednesday, April 8, 2015 - 23:00

I’m thankful for this opportunity to share with Alaska Star readers about my favorite ministry, Aglow. We used to be called “Women’s Aglow,” but Aglow is not just for women anymore.

In fact, our His Hands Aglow Advisory, Henry Pennington, will speak at our next gathering on April 21 at ACF Church (16620 Brooks Loop) at 7 p.m. in the Youth Room.

The topic is “Man Hunt: Calling All Men… to Aglow.”

All are welcome to come and find out how Aglow ministry can give you purpose, vision, passion, and unconditional love as you grow in your God-given gifts. Locally, His Hands Aglow has a sign language worship class that meets Sundays from 3:30 – 5 p.m., a monthly outreach on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m., and two other prayer worship gatherings each month.

The word “Aglow” comes from the scripture in Romans 12:11: “Be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” It means to be full of the joy and zeal and glory of God.

I have been serving Jesus through Aglow ministry for nearly 30 years. My Aglow friends have prayed me through the best and worst of times. Aglow is where I learned how to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4, 32-39), to walk in God’s supernatural Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-10), and to live a life filled with the Fruit of His Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Aglow ministry worldwide is currently sharing Graham Cooke’s Game Changers teaching about your own Identity in Christ, including discovering your Identity (how heaven sees you), writing it, declaring it, and living it. This truly has transformed our lives.

From the Aglow International Website at “Aglow is a dynamic, global Kingdom movement made up of women and men with a single purpose: to see God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Aglow is one of the networks that God has built & established in the earth to accomplish His purposes in the end times. The real strength of this network is its breadth — displaying His power, dominion, & authority in 170 nations. We know how to stand against the shifting, changing times, speak into the atmosphere & align earth with Heaven’s purposes.”
