Police Blotter from June 19 to 25

The following items are from the Anchorage Police Department logs from June 19 to 25, for the Chugiak-Eagle River area.


June 19

Assault – Police responded to an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the 18300 block of Hidden Falls in Eagle River. No arrests were made.

Burglary – Caller reported that someone broke into their car in the past couple of weeks and stole a shotgun and ammunition. The car was parked in a garage in the 23000 block of Ross Voyles in Chugiak.

Abuse – Police were called to Carrs in Eagle River, by employees, because a child was causing problems in the store. Police will follow-up with an investigation for child neglect, the report said.


June 20

Accident – Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the on the Glenn Highway in Chugiak.

Accident — Two elderly drivers ran into each other in the 11400 block of Business Road in Eagle River.

Theft— Someone stole a cart full of items from Walmart in Eagle River.


June 21

DUI – Police conducted a traffic stop near Eagle River Drive and Fire House Lane. Donald Cosgrove, 47, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Theft — Someone stole a headlight from a vehicle parked behind Napa in Eagle River.

Theft — A Smith and Wesson long barrel revolver was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 24700 block of Homestead in Chugiak.

Accident – Police responded to a minor vehicle accident at Aurora and Coronado in Eagle River. According to police, there was a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old in the car, who were transported to the hospital, but no injuries were reported.


June 24

Vandalism — A caller reported that a shopper’s grocery cart got away from her and crashed into a parked car in the lot at 3 Bears.
