Eagle River photographer a finalist in train pic contest

Eagle River’s Cale Green has been named a finalist in the Alaska Railroad’s Catch The Trail Photo Contest.

Finalists were announced in a press release Jan. 4. Voting is held online via the railroad’s Facebook page and runs through Jan. 8. To vote, visit www.facebook.com/alaskarailroad.

Green’s photo is one of 18 finalists in the contest. His picture is of an Alaska Railroad train alongside Turnagain Arm.

Finalists will have their work displayed in the railroad’s 2017 Panoramas onboard magazine and will receive a trip for two to the Alaska Railroad destination of their choice.

The contest winner will received $1,500, a railway trip for four and be featured on the Alaska Railroad calendar cover for 2018.

More than 700 photo entries were received for this year’s contest, according to railroad director of passenger marketing and reservations Bruce LaLonde.
