Pub run planned for St. Paddy’s

Hoping to get a running start at St. Patrick’s Day? You’re in luck.

Now in its second year, the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Run — organized by Healthwise and Odd Man Rush Brewing — will feature free 2k and 5k runs or walks. The Friday, March 17 event begins and ends at the brewery (10930 Mausel Street in Eagle River) and runs from 6 to 8 p.m.

Odd Man Rush co-owner Brian Swanson said his company was happy to partner with the local physical therapy center, which hosts fun runs and other activities throughout the year.

With Friday’s forecast calling for sunshine and mild temperatures, the fun run is expected to draw a crowd, he said. A food truck will be on hand for post-race fuel, and runners 21 and older can cool off with a locally brewed beer. Taking place on the edge of spring, last year’s event was “packed,” Swanson said.

“It was awesome,” he said. “That was a super fun one just cause the days are getting a little longer and people are just looking to get more active.”
