POLICE BRIEFS: Flasher reported on Glenn Highway

On Aug. 22 at around 12:40 p.m., police were called by a woman who said she was driving inbound on the Glenn Highway when a blue vehicle pulled up next to the woman’s car and kept pace with her. The woman told police that she looked over and saw the man driving the car had his penis out and was masturbating. An officer searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicle or suspect.
On Aug. 27 at around 9 p.m., a citizen called police to report that a man and woman who appeared to be intoxicated were parked in the Eagle River McDonald’s parking lot with two kids in the back seat. When officers arrived, they stopped the vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot and found a 7-year-old and 1-year-old in the back seat. Officers arrested Johnny T. Marmon, 37, of Eagle River, for felony operating under the influence (3 or more OUI offenses in the past 10 years) and two counts of reckless endangerment. A family member came to the scene to take custody of the children and the adult female passenger.
On Aug. 27 at around 8 p.m., a citizen called police to report a drunk driver pulled over on the side of the road. When officers arrived, they contacted Gustav S. Dahl, 48, of Anchorage. Police said Dahl denied driving the vehicle, but several witnesses at the scene contradicted his account. A records check found that Dahl had his license revoked due to previous drunk driving convictions. He was arrested and charged with felony operating under the influence for having three or more such offenses in the past 10 years. He was also charged with driving while license revoked.
On Aug. 26 at around 12:54 a.m., an APD officers stopped a Honda sedan after it allegedly swerved across its lane several times. The driver, Matthew A. Miller, 35, of Wasilla, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.
On Aug. 26 at around 3:46 a.m., an APD sergeant stopped a vehicle that was allegedly unable to stay in its lane and driving 15 MPH below the speed limit on the Glenn Highway. The driver, Jazzfer G. Moreno, 19, of Barrow, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of marijuana.
On Aug. 27 at around 1:19 a.m., an APD officer stopped a vehicle after it allegedly made several abrupt lane changes on the Glenn Highway and signaled a turn off the highway it never took. The driver, Hughie Wilder III, 28, of Seward, was arrested for operating under the influence. While at the Anchorage Jail, Wilder allegedly refused to give a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained to draw his blood. Wilder was additionally charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test.
On Aug. 24 at around 1:50 p.m., police were called for a report that someone had broken into a home on Sleepy Circle in Chugiak. According to police, the residents of the house were moving out at the time of the burglary and were not home. They reported the garage and home had been “rummaged through,” according to APD. A door of a camper parked outside had also been pried open. Police said several items were stolen but had been left in backpacks outside the residence. As of Tuesday, Aug. 29, police said the residents were still trying to determine what had been stolen.
On Aug. 23 at around 2:38 a.m., police received a report that a man had been punched several times by his adult son, who was suffering from a mental health issue. Police said the son was taken to a hospital for mental health reasons.
On Aug. 25 at around 5 p.m., police received a report that tools had been taken from a construction side on Devils End Drive. According to APD, the suspect or suspects got into a home under construction by climbing a ladder to an open window.
