Mac Center to remember 9/11 with open house

The Harry J. McDonald Center (13701 Harry McDonald Road) will host “an evening of tribute, remembrance and community celebration” on Monday, Sept. 11 featuring a variety of free family events both indoors and out.

The 9/11 Never Forget Open House will include free skating, free turf and track time, outdoor food vendors, figure skating exhibitions, live demonstrations from the Air Force Color Guard, Alaska Warrior Hockey program, Alaska Avalanche Sled Hockey, Mustang Hockey Association, MAC learn to skate program, Eagle River Hockey League, Chugiak Soccer Club, CYSA, Special Olympics, the Anchorage Police Department and the Chugiak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Outdoor activities start at 5 p.m. with an on-ice opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
