On Oct. 15 at around 6 p.m., police were called about a vehicle that had been idling at the dead-end at the corner of Old Eagle River Road and Foothill Avenue for at least 20 minutes. Officers found two people in the vehicle, including a passenger, Sheila M. Ellis, 21, of Eagle River, who allegedly showed signs of intoxication and had a bottle of alcohol next to her in the center console. She was also cited for driving while license revoked and speeding.

During the traffic stop, the officer discovered a passenger in the vehicle, Frances A. Haas, 53, of Palmer, was on parole. The officer contacted Haas’s parole officer, who asked the officer to search the vehicle.
