Thursday afternoon snow snarls Glenn traffic
Snowy, icy conditions were causing commuting carnage Thursday afternoon on the Glenn Highway.
The Anchorage Police Department said an accident in the northbound lanes near the Eagle River exit caused the far left lane to be closed, according to a special alert sent out by APD at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday. Roughly 15 minutes later, the department said the lane had been reopened.
At around 1:30 p.m., the department issued a bulletin advising drivers of dangerous conditions due to a fast-moving snow storm timed around the afternoon commute.
The department didn’t say how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
