Chugiak man earns automotive detailing certifications

Chugiak’s Ryan McGowan, who owns True North Auto Detailing, has been awarded a Detailing Business, Paint Correction, Headlight Repair and Ceramics Coating Certification from Renny Doyle of Detailing Success. According to a press release, McGowan now holds dual certifications from the International Detailing Association.

“Although McGowan is already a successful automotive detailer, technology drove him to take his business and his skills to a more advanced level,” reads the release, which noted the 5-day accreditations are the only ones of their kind in the industry.

McGowan’s instructor, Renny Doyle, is most well known for his 15-year restoration of the original Air Force One.

Hall admitted to Cornell College

Eagle River’s Sam Hall has been admitted to Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. A senior at Eagle River High School, Hall has been admitted for the fall, 2018 semester on a Presidential Scholarship.

Cornell College uses a “One Course at a Time” curriculum model in which students take one class for 18 days. For more information, visit cornellcollege.edu.
