POLICE BRIEFS: Man has car stolen while showering…gunplay at horse corral, house party

Showering man has car stolen
On June 18 at around 12:23 a.m., police received a report that a man had what they described as an acquaintance over to his residence on Centerfield Drive and, while he was in the shower, the acquaintance allegedly stole several items, including his 1999 Toyota Camry. Two days later, the man called police to say he had recovered the car after spotting it at a residence on Duben Avenue in Anchorage. Police said charges had not been filed because the victim didn’t know the suspect’s full name.
Kia, camper taken
On June 13 at around 7 p.m., police received a report that a Jayco brand trailer was stolen from a location on Stewart Drive. As of Monday, the vehicle had not been recovered.
On June 14 at around 12:30 a.m., police received a report that a black 2013 Kia Optima was stolen after it was parked on Scenic Drive with the music on and keys in the ignition. As of Monday, the vehicle had not been recovered.
Guns appear at horse corral, house party
On June 11 at around 1:30 a.m., police received a call from a man who said another man pointed a gun at him at a house party on South Birchwood Loop. Police said they responded to the house and interviewed multiple people, but didn’t have probable cause to charge anyone with a crime.
On June 11 at around 6 a.m., police were called by a man on Tofson Street who said his neighbor’s dog was outside his horse corral, barking and trying to get into the corral. The man said he fired a shot into the air, which scared off the dog. Police talked to the dog owner and the municipal prosecutor, and as of Monday no charges had been filed.
Speeding leads to arrest
On June 14 at around 10:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for allegedly driving 85 MPH in a 65 MPH zone on the Glenn Highway and arrested Plutarco M. Gonzalez, 24, of Anchorage for operating under the influence.
Burglar uses ladder to break into home
On June 16 at around 4 p.m., police received a report that someone used a ladder to get into a home on Tradition Avenue through an unlocked second-story window. The burglar took several items, including a vehicle, which was recovered a short time later on Eagle River Road. The case is pending.
Domestic violence accusation leveled
On June 17 at around 3:05 p.m., police arrested Gregory L. Beck, 61, of Eagle River after he allegedly pushed his wife to the ground during an argument. Police said the victim was bruised during the incident.
