Alaska State Troopers arrested a 30-year-old Chugiak man wanted by U.S. Marshals following a high-speed chase early Saturday morning between Houston and Willow.

According to an online trooper dispatch, Kyle Wilson was driving a 2004 Ford pickup on the Parks Highway near Houston at around 3:37 a.m. Saturday when a trooper tried to stop the vehicle for an equipment violation. Instead, Wilson sped off at a high rate of speed, troopers said.

Troopers chased Wilson until his vehicle crashed near Giggly Girls Avenue near Willow; they said Wilson fled the scene and was chased down by officers and a police dog.

Wilson was taken into custody and held without bail on the federal warrant at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Wilson was also charged with failure to stop at the direction of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and providing false information. Troopers didn’t say what the federal warrant was for.
