The Anchorage Police Department is looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run that happened last week at the intersection of Farm Avenue and the Old Glenn Highway in Eagle River.

According to APD spokeswoman Renee Oistad, at around 5 p.m. on July 24, a woman driving a green Volkswagen Beetle told police she was driving slowly down Farm Avenue when she was rear-ended by a red truck. Oistad said the woman told police the driver of the truck — who was described as a white male between 25 and 30 years old with a tattoo on his upper right arm — initially pulled over to talk to the woman but left the scene before exchanging information.

The driver said she and a passenger were uninjured; the Volkswagen suffered a broken tail light.

Police want to talk to the driver of the red truck, and on Monday APD released photos from a nearby surveilance camera. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the department’s non-emergency line at 311 in reference to case no. 18-29805.
