On Sept. 3 at around midnight police got a report from a man who told them he was working on his vehicle in the Fred Meyer parking lot when a man tried to rob him at gunpoint. According to police, the man told him a vehicle drove up next to him and a man in the passenger seat pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The victim described the suspect as a skinny white adult with scruffy facial hair in a dark colored SUV.
The next day, police said the man who reported the Fred Meyer incident was driving with a woman when their car was followed by two vehicles — one driven by the man who’d tried to rob him the day before, the other driven by the woman who had been driving the SUV. Police said the two suspects — identified as Wasilla residents Jarrod L. Taylor, 47, and Tina M. Tischer, 49 — followed the couple to their home and blocked their vehicle.
Police said Tischer pointed a handgun at the male victim, but no shots were fired.
Taylor and Tischer were arrested for one count each of first-degree robbery and two counts each of third-degree assault.
