Police seek 2 on robbery charges after alleged theft, beating in Eagle River
Police are searching for two people accused of robbing a man Saturday in Eagle River.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, a man called police to report that he was in a parked vehicle in Eagle River with Ian M. Blodgett, 27, of Eagle River and Sarah J. Norton, 27, of Anchorage, along with two other unknown people. Police said the man told them Blodgett and Norton stole cash from him.
The man told police he refused to leave the vehicle unless his money was returned, at which point one of the unknown men in the vehicle allegedly got out of the SUV and confronted the victim.
Police said that after the victim also got out of the vehicle, the unknown man reportedly punched the victim in the face and pushed him to the ground. The unknown man then got back into the vehicle and drove off with Blodgett, Norton and the other man still in the vehicle.
Warrants were issued for Blodgett and Norton on charges of second-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft. Anyone who knows where they are or has information about the case can contact police by calling the department’s non-emergency line at 311. Police said Norton also has an outstanding warrant out for failure to appear in court on a first-degree vehicle theft charge.
The case number is 18-5283.
