Students’ social media messages reported to police; cops respond to multiple DV calls

On March 28 at around 9:43 a.m., police were contacted by school staff at Chugiak, who showed them “copies of social media messages, exchanged between Chugiak High School students discussing the using and selling of drugs,” police said. Police said no drugs were found at the school and no charges were filed. Chugiak High and Anchorage School District officials did not respond to an email seeking comment about the incident.
Multiple domestic violence reports made
On March 26 at around 4:13 a.m. police responded to a report of an assault on Dogsled Court and arrested Paul R. Standifer, 48, of Chugiak for assault after he allegedly kicked a woman, pulled her hair and pushed her down while he was intoxicated. Standifer was charged with two counts of assault, one count of family violence in the presence of a child and one count of harassment.
On March 30 at around 1:09 p.m. police received a report of a fight between a man and a woman on Lynne Drive. However, officers said that when they arrived at the residence neither person had injuries and neither was cooperative with police so no charges were filed and no arrests were made.
On March 30 at around 11:56 p.m. police were called for a report of a verbal altercation on Aurora Street. According to police, a woman and her adult son got into an argument while drinking. The son allegedly knocked a phone out of his mother’s hands while she was recording him, but caused no damage or injury. Police said the two were separated and no charges were filed.
On March 31 at around 7:34 p.m. police were called to Rosenburg Circle, where they found Richard H. White, 43, had allegedly slapped his wife during a fight while both were drinking. White was arrested and charged with assault.
Juvenile arrested on charges of breaking into liquor store
On March 26 at around 1:47 a.m., a male juvenile broke into the Brown Jug in Eagle River and stole alcohol from inside. Police said they arrested the juvenile and forwarded charges to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Man arrested on drunk-driving charges after leaving bar
On March 28 at around 2:31 a.m. an officer allegedly watched a Ford pickup drive onto the sidewalk while leaving Tips Bar. The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested driver Chance C. Wolfley, 25, of Eagle River for operating under the influence.
On March 25 at around 10:28 p.m., an APD officer stopped a Jeep for allegedly speeding on the Glenn Highway and arrested driver Jeffrey L. Libby, 41, of Anchorage for operating under the influence. Libby was also charged with breath test refusal.
Construction trailer burglarized
On March 30 at around 7:26 a.m., police received a report that a construction site trailer on the Old Glenn Highway had been burglarized overnight, with several items stolen from inside.
Man finds drug gear while out for a walk
On March 30 at around 5:34 p.m. police were contacted by a man in the Eaglewood neighborhood who said he was out for a walk and found drug paraphernalia. The man took the paraphernalia home and called police, who came and picked it up for destruction. Police did not specify what kind of drug paraphernalia the man found.
