National Weather Service says spring snow possible overnight
The National Weather Service said an April storm could bring snow to higher elevations around Eagle River, Anchorage and the Mat-Su beginning overnight Tuesday.
According to a special weather statement issued Tuesday afternoon, evening rain is likely to turn to a mix of rain and snow after midnight. Lower elevations should remain snow-free, but higher elevations are likely to get snow, the service said.
“Conditions will likely become more showery Wednesday and Thursday and stay on the cooler side,” the statement said.
Overnight lows are predicted to dip below freezing areawide, which could make for a slippery commute Wednesday.
