Chugiak boys earn quad meet win; Wolves in action Friday

The Chugiak boys track and field team raced to a lopsided win Thursday at a four-team meet at West High.

The Mustangs won eight of 13 individual events to rack up 212.5 team points and easily outdistance the host Eagles, who finished second with 132. Earning individual wins were Jeremiah Wilson (100 meters), Logan Mathieu (110 hurdles), Kenny Huffer (discus), Dray Etienne (high jump), Jared Parks (triple jump), Wyatt Rohde (300 hurdles), Jacob Lestina (400) and Daniel Bausch (1600). The Mustangs also won the 4X100 relay.

Brooklynn Gould was a double winner for the Chugiak girls, racing to victory in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles for the third-place Mustangs. Chugiak also got a win from Shaylee Griffin in the long jump and from the 4X100 relay team.

Eagle River will compete in a four-team meet Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Service against the Cougars, Dimond and Bartlett.
