Here's the press release issued by police today:

Anchorage Police have arrested four men on a total of 33 charges stemming from the alleged detention, physical abuse, and sexual assault of a 17 year old homeless female.

On March 20th, 2013, Anchorage Police were called and made contact with the victim.  The victim reported that on Saturday March 16th, 2013, she contacted an acquaintance named Alex METZGER and asked for help in finding a place to stay.  METZGER and his friend, Ryan Poole, allegedly picked her up and took her to a residence in Eagle River, where they met Jesse Contreras.  That night the victim reports she was offered marijuana, forced to drink alcohol, threatened, physically abused, and repeatedly sexually assaulted by all three men.  At some point the following day, the three perpetrators were joined by another man, Joseph Sanford, and the alleged abuse of the young female continued.  These sexual assaults reportedly took place over a two day period, ending during the early morning hours of March 18th, 2013, when the victim was finally able to escape the residence after finding her phone and calling a friend to pick her up. On March 30th, 2013, Detective Jade Baker obtained arrest warrants for Ryan Poole, Jesse Contreras, Alexander Metzger, and Joseph Sanford, and by the following day all four were in custody.

Ryan Anthony Poole (below), age 21, has been charged with six counts of Sexual Assault in the 1st degree, one count of Kidnapping, and seven counts of Furnishing or Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor.

Jesse Contreras (below), age 19, has been charged with six counts of Sexual Assault in the 1st degree, one count of Kidnapping, and one count of Assault in the 3rd degree.

APD investigates an average of 500 reports of sexual assaults every year, and it is believed that even more go unreported.  Sexual assault has a devastating effect on victims, families, and the entire community.  The goal of the Anchorage Police Department is to work with other agencies and the community to reduce the occurrence of Sexual Assault.
