Soccer teams back in action

After a week and a half off, local soccer teams were back on the pitch this week. Here’s a look at Chugiak and Eagle River fared.

 

GIRLS

Chugiak 1, East 1

Tristyn Hall scored for Chugiak in a 1-1 tie with East on Monday, April 8 at The Dome. The Mustangs (2-0-2) remain undefeated in Cook Inlet Conference play.

Chugiak travels to Juneau-Douglas for a two-game series Friday and Saturday, April 12-13. The Mustangs play Dimond on Tuesday, April 16 at 4:40 p.m. at The Dome.

 

Service 2, Eagle River 0

The Wolves fell to 2-2 after a 2-0 loss against Service on April 4 at The Dome.

Eagle River meets West on Saturday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m. at The Dome before playing Bartlett two days later at 4:40 p.m.

 

BOYS

East 2, Chugiak 1

Brady Sanders scored Chugiak’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to East on Tuesday, April 9 at The Dome. The Mustangs fell to 1-3 in the conference.

Chugiak travels to Juneau for two games April 12-13 before playing Dimond on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at The Dome.

Eagle River played Service on Wednesday, April 10, but a score was not available when the Star went to press. The Wolves play West on Saturday, April 13 at 1:15 p.m. and Bartlett on Monday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. at The Dome.
