“CHS PTA Plans Variety Show”
From the Knik Arm Courier, Jan. 21, 1970:
A variety show, starring talent from all over the greater Chugiak Area, is being planned by the Chugiak High School PTA to raise funds for the scholarship which they award to a graduating senior each year.
In the past, these funds have been raised by the dessert booth at the Stew and Fun Day and with Dime-a-Dish Dinners, however, the PTA has decided to try something new this year.
Talent will be recruited from all over the community, both adults and youngsters being urged to participate. Letters are being sent to all clubs in the community explaining the purpose of the show, and asking them to scout for talent among their memberships. However, anyone who sings, dances or performs in any way is welcome to take part.
Les Fetrow, who has participated in most of the successful local dramatic efforts, has offered to coordinate and direct the show.
April 1 has been set as the tentative date for the show.
