Walk and roll for Hope

Published:

As we roll into spring, one of the Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions Club’s causes is Hope Community Resources, Inc. The Lions have a long history of supporting Hope’s Walk & Roll for Hope. This year’s event is scheduled for May 4 at the Delaney Park Strip in Anchorage. Club members look forward each year participating in Walk. It is a chance for them to reconnect with Hope’s mission and the people who choose their support. This year is no different; the club will be out in full force to support Hope.

For 44 years, Walk & Roll for Hope has helped individuals who experience disability achieve their dreams. All of the money raised stays in Alaska assisting Hope in ensuring they have means to provide for people’s health and welfare, keep families together, deliver quality services, and maintain accessible, safe homes for the people who choose their support.

Each year, thousands join forces to make Alaska a better place to live for people who experience a disability. Each of Hope’s nine regions hosts a Walk & Roll for Hope either with a physical, or virtual (online only) event.

The Anchorage region event is listed below. The money raised through each event stays in that region to support local emergency needs for those who choose Hope’s services.

Anchorage — May 4, 2013, Delaney Park Strip Anchorage. Check-in: 8:30 a.m. Start: 9 a.m.

The Walk & Roll for Hope is free to register, there is a suggested donation of $25 per person or $100 per family, which would start your fundraising effort off immediately, or the donation can be through collected donations from friends and family members. Raise $75 and you will receive a free 2013 Official 44th Annual Walk & Roll for Hope t-shirt.
