In a strange turn of events, missing Eagle River man Samuel Ephram McAlpine, 37 was found dead in his home on Meadow Creek Drive on March 31. His body was discovered in a storage area beneath a stairwell. Tenants had been renting the house for the past year.
Two lost skiers were rescued from Wolverine Peak by airmen from the Alaska Air National Guard on March 26. The skiers, who spent a cold night with insufficient clothing, had lost their equipment and unable to self-recover, called the Alaska State Troopers for assistance.
