Adam Kasgnoc of Anchorage was convicted by an Anchorage jury on Feb. 26 of sexually assaulting his then 20 year old daughter in his Spenard apartment in Anchorage. The jury also found him guilty of incest.
An SUV hit the backside of an Eagle River school bus on Feb. 25. The bus was transporting students home from school. According to Anchorage Police Department, an SUV-type vehicle hit the bus at approximately 2:21 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Each year the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) conducts a national survey of domestic violence programs throughout the United States. The National Census of Domestic Violence Services (Census) reveals that on the single date of Sept. 17, 2013, 18 domestic violence programs in Alaska served 618 victims in a 24-hour period.
Two people were transported to area hospitals on the morning of Feb. 23 following a single vehicle rollover accident. According to the Anchorage Police Department, the outbound lanes of the Glenn Highway at the North Birchwood exit were briefly closed.
A fire on Feb. 12 left an Anchorage fire fighter temporarily injured and an Eagle River family’s home uninhabitable. A 911 call went out around 4:08 p.m., according to the Graig Temple, Anchorage Fire Department assistant chief of operations.
A 17-year-old Eagle River High student was caught with marijuana on school grounds Jan. 23, according to Anchorage Police. APD seized the female’s drugs and gave her mother a directive to contact McLaughlin Youth Center, spokesperson Anita Shell said.
