Eagle River’s Ariel Talen-Keller, Mrs. Alaska United America and founder of Aero Femme nonprofit organization and scholarship fund, was invited as a keynote speaker to the Women in Aviation International conference in Nashville, Tenn. March 14-16. She spoke about the nonprofit she founded in 2010 and has detachments across the nation. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Alan J. Mulcahy, a 2011 graduate of Chugiak High, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Nancy Clark is the new manager of the Chugiak-Eagle River Neighborhood Library. A lifelong Alaskan, Clark has worked in a number of libraries in the state since receiving her MLS from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1991.
Teams from Chugiak High placed first in both the Culinary and Management competitions at the 2013 Alaska ProStart Invitational Feb. 23 in Anchorage. The two teams will travel to the national competition in Baltimore, Md., April 19-21.
