Douglas Halfdane Leavelle, of Eagle River, graduated Navy Basic and Navy Aircrew training at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Pensacola, Fla.
Longtime Eagle River resident Kyle Albert graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering on June 10, 2012. Kyle attended Chugiak High School and is the son of former Eagle River resident Steve Albert. Starting this fall, Kyle will be attending the University of Alaska Anchorage to pursue a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He is currently employed by the university as a civil engineering research assistant, exploring hydrokinetic energy resources in Alaska.
Eagle River’s Breeanna Bateman has been named to the Honor List at Minnesota State University, Mankato, for the Spring Semester. To qualify for the list, students must have earned between a 3.5 and 3.99 GPA while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of study.
Ryan Jarvis, of Eagle River, graduated from the Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY) School of Business with a major in Business Administration in May 2012.
Andrew Christian, 17, of Eagle River, has been named as one of 98 high school student representatives from throughout the U.S. chosen to attend The American Legion Boys Nation July 20-28 in Arlington, Va.
Erik Scott Moore and Nikolai Daniel Reitz, both of Eagle River, have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering for the Spring 2012 semester. Moore and Reitz are juniors majoring in biological systems engineering.
Sara Rearick, a lifelong Eagle River resident and a 2007 Chugiak High graduate, graduated from the University of Idaho last year with a double major in accounting and finance. Rearick continued her education, completing her Master’s in Accountancy on May 12, 2012.
Montana State University has announced its undergraduate honor rolls for spring semester 2012. There are two MSU honor roll lists: the President’s (4.0 GPA) and the Dean’s Honor Roll minimum 3.5 GPA). Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours to be on either list.
On Mother’s Day, Rebekah Smith, of Eagle River, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, while double-majoring in international relations and economics. She was one of four people in her graduating class to graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Brian Robert Boyle, of Eagle River, recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies (Magne Cum Laude) from the University of Arizona College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Boyle is the son of Kelly Boyle and the late Bernard V. Boyle.
