Anchorage Police are seeking help from the public in locating an Eagle River man who was last seen by neighbors near his Hiland Road home about two weeks ago.
Kastle Sorensen recently became a veteran — well in the baking world. In June, the 2003 Chugiak High grad competed in “Cupcake Wars,” a competition cooking show on the Food Network that pits four bakers against each other. Sorensen’s episode will be aired Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Alaska.

A woman died after she re-entered a burning house in Chugiak on Monday, Nov. 18, according to the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department. The woman, who was not identified Monday, exited the home at 15813 South Birchwood Loop with two other occupants then re-entered, CVFD Chief Virginia McMichael said.
When Aaron Kallas isn’t teaching at Chugiak High, he spends his time training other educators in the field of biotechnology. And he’s doing award-winning work. Kallas earned the 2013 Ron Mardigian Biotechnology Teaching Award. The National Association of Biology Teachers will present the award to Kallas on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Atlanta.
