Anchorage police said they arrested Mark Chapin, 42, of Eagle River after he used a stun gun on a 27-year-old male neighbor after accusing him of acting like a sexual predator around his teenage son.

A 20-year-old man from Chugiak told Anchorage police that three men assaulted him in the Fred Meyer parking lot just before 7 p.m. on Feb. 11. The man said he was walking to his car when he heard someone behind him, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. Two men pinned him and a third man started punching him in the face, Myren said. The victim couldn’t identify his attackers and said he didn’t know why they assaulted him, she said. He refused medical treatment.

POLICE BRIEFS - 2/14/13

A 21-year-old man brandished a handgun at two other young men parked at Schroeder Park on Jan. 31, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. The gun came out after one of the parked young men — who were 17 and 20 years old — displayed some marijuana, Myren said. They handed over the marijuana to the 21-year-old, who drove off. The younger men then flagged down an off-duty officer around noon.
