The fourth and final “advance party” plane load of paratroopers from the Army’s 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division arrived at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Monday, Sept. 17. The arrival of approximately 230 soldiers brought the total of redeployed soldiers to about 500, according to the Army.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Raider C. Zavodsky graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Zavodsky completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Zavodsky is the son of Richard Cormier of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and a 2011 graduate of Eagle River High School.
