The Gospels are filled with stories of hope. We are in the season of hope. Some people call this the season of Pentecost.
There’s a party Saturday — and everyone’s invited.
If we are truly observant, we can see Jesus Christ acting in people’s lives locally and around the world! When we are attentive to the spiritual life, we will be awed at the sheer immensity of the Christian faith!
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! — Philippians 2:5-11 (NIV)
Prayers to encourage and comfort the soul will increase my spirituality, giving me abundant life and peace. During the day, I am often confronted with many issues, some relevant to family and friends, job and coworkers or even a stranger. Therefore, I must prepare myself with the Word of God. The Word of God will lead me and guide me throughout the day.
This faith walk is modeled after a prayer activity called the Stations of the Cross.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John, 3:16
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’” — Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, ‘I gave birth to him in pain.’ Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.” — I CHRONICLES 4:9-10
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
