A 17-year-old Eagle River High student was caught with marijuana on school grounds Jan. 23, according to Anchorage Police. APD seized the female’s drugs and gave her mother a directive to contact McLaughlin Youth Center, spokesperson Anita Shell said.
• Eagle River’s Adam Tooyak, 25, was charged with driving under the influence after passing out in the drive through at McDonald’s in Eagle River on Dec. 25, 2013, according to Anchorage Police. APD spokesperson Anita Shell said police responded at 2:41 a.m. to a call that a person was asleep in their car at the drive through. Tooyak provided a breath sample of .161, she said. The legal limit is .08. Tooyak was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $10,000 plus a court-approved third party custodian, Shell said.
Anchorage Police detectives are seeking to speak with Brett William Hopper as they continue their investigation into the death of Eagle River’s Andrew Conn. Conn, 32, was found dead at his home on Mountain Vista Drive on Dec. 7, 2013.
