Patrick J. Everson, a 2008 graduate of Chugiak High, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Everson received a bachelor of science degree and was commissioned as a second lieutenant.
Navy Seaman Cody D. Pratercox, son of Ileta E. Prater of Chugiak and Dewayne D. Cox, of Yakima, Wash., was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Pratercox is a 2007 graduate of Wasilla High.
Army National Guard Pfc. Eric A. Hewitt, a 2007 graduate of Chugiak High, recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Hewitt is the son of Corrine Hewitt of Eagle River.

A pair of local students have been named to the spring Dean’s List at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
Quincy Voris, of Eagle River, graduated from Luther College (Decorah, Iowa) with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Commencment was held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Luther College’s Carlson Stadium.
Alexander Matson, of Eagle River, has been named to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus spring Dean’s List. Matson is a student in the school’s College of Liberal Arts.
Victoria Houser, of Eagle River, has been named to the higher honors Dean’s List for the spring 2012 semester at Roberts Wesleyan College. To be named to the list, students must have received a GPA of 3.7 to 3.89.
Longtime Eagle River resident Kyle Albert graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering on June 10, 2012. Kyle attended Chugiak High School and is the son of former Eagle River resident Steve Albert and the late Eileen Albert. Starting this fall, Kyle will be attending the University of Alaska, Anchorage to pursue a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is currently employed by the university as a civil engineering research assistant exploring hydrokinetic energy resources in Alaska.
