Izzy Powers, 10, won six events and racked up 137 points en route to a girls 10 and under individual title at the Alaska Swimming Junior Olympic Championships at Bartlett High on April 26-29. Powers helped the Chugiak Aquatics Club to a ninth-place finish with a combined junior team score of 401.5 points. The Knik Swim Club was sixth with 789.5 points.

The “Birchwood Bowl” games have been put on hold. Chugiak was scheduled to host crosstown rival Eagle River on Saturday, April 21, but the varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer games have been postponed until Tuesday, May 1.
