Cogdell to go for gold Saturday
Eagle River’s Olympian tweeting from London
Eagle River’s Corey Cogdell, 25, will shoot for her second Olympic medal when she takes part in the Olympic trapshooting competition Aug. 4 in London.
Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the hometown hero sooner than that, however, can find Cogdell on Twitter, where she’s been tweeting pictures of herself at the Games all week.
On Monday, Cogdell (@CoreyCogdell), tweeted a picture of herself, gun slung over shoulder, after a training session.
“Great day of training at the range today, watched the boys start off strong in Skeet!” she tweeted, referring to Team USA shooters Vincent Hancock and Frank Thompson, who each posted top-three results in Day 1 of their competition.
The Eagle River native — who now lives and trains in Colorado Springs, Colo. — has also tweeted pictures of herself at the Opening Ceremonies, watching the women’s gymnastics competition and even traveling on the London Underground.
Cogdell’s one-day event, which will be streamed online at nbcolympics.com, begins at 9 a.m. London time, (midnight in Alaska), with the finals set for 6 a.m. Alaska time.
Cogdell won the bronze medal in trap shooting in Beijing in 2008.
