Loan dominates Tour again, takes 10th title
Daughter is closest competition in four-day race series
It’s been a long time since a Loan failed to win the Tour of Anchorage. That might not change for a while.
Sheryl Loan held off daughter Kinsey for her record 10th Tour of Anchorage Title Sunday following the fifth and final stage of the four-day race series. The elder Loan finished the tour in 5 hours, 38 minutes, 8 seconds to better her daughter by 1:53 in the Expert Women division. Amber Stull was third, more than a minute behind Kinsey Loan.
Each Loan won two individual stages during the Tour. Mother won the Potter Valley hill climb and Pt. Mackenzie time trial, daughter won the Kincaid Park circuit and the tour-ending Martin Luther King crit on Sunday, Aug. 4 in Anchorage.
John Sindell won the men’s overall title, besting Jason Lamoreaux by 56 seconds. James Stull was third.
