Eagle River football falls in opener

North Pole held Eagle River to just two yards of offense in a 40-8 nonconference win Saturday in North Pole.

Peter Kott’s fourth quarter touchdown pass to Alani Collins was the lone bright spot for the Wolves, who fell to 0-1 overall. Ed Hall led Eagle River with 20 yards rushing on nine carries. Kott went 2-for-8 for 16 yards and one interception.

Eagle River opens its Cook Inlet Conference season Saturday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. against Dimond at Eagle River High.
