Tsunami '01 girls win second straight state title

The Chugiak Soccer Club’s ’01 Tusnami girls team won its second consecutive Alaska State Cup tournament Aug. 7-11 at the Kincaid Soccer Complex in Anchorage. Nicole Bedwell scored the game-winner off an assist from Emma Sees in the championship game, a 1-0 win over Eclipse from Fairbanks.

In four matches during the tournament, the CSC Tsunami outscored their opponents 12-1. The team will advance to play in either the Far West Regional Championships or the President’s Cup next spring.
