A murder will take place this Friday the 13th — and it’s up to you to solve the crime.
A Premier Production’s murder mystery dinner show “Murder on the Love Boat” opens Friday, April 13 at Bear Mountain Grill in Eagle River. Tickets for the show — which will be put on April 13, 14, 20 and 21 — cost $42.50 and can be purchased at love.tix.com.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7. A Premier Production asks that anyone attending the show bring donations for the Chugiak-Eagle River Food Pantry.
One of the cast members, Roxanne Garcia, who performed in a Broadway production of “Jerry Springer: The Opera,” said she was amazed to find such a talented cast in such a remote state.
“I was so surprised to find this caliber of show in Alaska,” said Garcia, who recently relocated here with her husband, an active duty member of the U.S. Army.
Garcia, who also performed in the Off-Broadway show “My First Time,” said the eight other cast members bring an unparalleled level of commitment to the show.
Dinner theater, Garcia said, gets everyone in the room involved in the show.
“I love the audience participation,” she said. “It breaks down the fourth wall — and that’s always fun.
“It’s cool to be apart of it,” Garcia added.
Dinner theater allows adults to let loose, Garcia said.
“Everyone has an inner 5-year-old that wants to jump around and sing and play,” she said. “It makes it OK to jump around and sing and play.”
