Words of Encouragement
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. — Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Prayers to encourage and comfort the soul will increase my spirituality, giving me abundant life and peace. During the day, I am often confronted with many issues, some relevant to family and friends, job and coworkers or even a stranger. Therefore, I must prepare myself with the Word of God. The Word of God will lead me and guide me throughout the day.
I will pray and ask God to help me to make better choices, and to remind me at the heart level — even in making small choices — to let them represent who I am in Christ. Crying out, “Please Lord let me not be selfish in my service. Let me be pleasing to the Holy Spirit living in me.”
Lord Jesus I pray, please bless my family and friends, job and coworkers or the stranger that I meet today. Help me to choose well that I will bring glory to your name.
In darkness there is no choice.
It is light that enables us to see the
Differences between things; and it is
Christ who give us light.
— Augustus W. Hare’
Do not be deceived…A man reaps what he sows…whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Therefore, be encouraged continuing to walk in the light; thus, encouraging one another in faith.
— Galatians 6:7-8 (NIV) 7
