Chinooks announce 2012 ABL schedule
20 home dates set for Loretta French
Are you ready for some…baseball?
Although the snow won’t be gone from Loretta French Park for some time, it’s never too early to start thinking about the inaugural season of the Alaska Baseball League’s Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks, which will begin play in June.
The team — which until this fall was known as the Athletes in Action Fire — will begin its ABL history on June 12 with a season-opening clash against the Anchorage Bucs at Loretta French.
The official ABL schedule was released in late December, and includes a total of 20 home games for the fledgling Chinooks franchise.
Some highlights of the new team’s schedule include a season-long 5-game homestand from July 10-15 and a July 28 doubleheader against the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks.
All games at the team’s new home field will be offered free of charge.
