PREP HOOPS: Wolves boys, Chugiak girls notch Friday night wins

Chris Parker led four Eagle River Wolves in double figures with 16 points to lead his team to a 72-53 Cook Inlet Conference win over South Friday night at Eagle River. The win moved the Wolves to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the CIC.

Also winning Friday night were the Chugiak girls, who got 11 points off the bench from Brandi Bookout to key a 46-38 win over Service to move to 2-0 in the CIC.

Eagle River's girls led by seven points at the half, but couldn't pick up their first win of the season, falling 65-55 to South. Sam Coy led the Wolves (0-3 overall, 0-2 CIC) with 16 points.

The Chugiak boys also fell to 0-2 in the CIC with a 68-46 loss to Service. Skyler Fullmer led the Mustangs with 12 points and Marquis Spearman added 10.

High school teams return to action Tuesday, Jan. 10, with Eagle River's teams visiting East and Chugiak's hosting Dimond. Girls games start at 6 p.m. with boys to follow.
