It's cold out there, but best-selling author Bill Streever, whom you might remember from his book Cold, is back to warm us up.  His brand-new book Heat starts where Cold left off and marches up the thermometer to 7 trillion degrees Fahrenheit.  Join Bill as he shares tales of fever, the first fires on earth and the (much later) first use of fire by humans, his own attempts to start fires without matches along the banks of Eagle River, the burning of peat, coal and oil, volcanoes, thermonuclear weapons, and the surprising temperatures that prevailed in the first moments after the big bang. Bill will stay to autograph copies of his book (a limited number of copies will be available). Free program; $5 parking for non-members.
