DUI arrests

• Eagle River’s Benjamin Crittenden, 39, was charged with driving under the influence Nov. 22. Anchorage Police received a report that Crittenden ran over a curb and nearly hit a wall while leaving Taco Bell in Eagle River at 8:44 p.m., said APD spokesperson Anita Shell.

The officer who responded to the call observed Crittenden commit a few traffic violations as he made his way home, Shell said. Crittenden stopped at his home on Lake Drive when the officer contacted him, she said.

Crittenden refused a field sobriety test, Shell said, but provided a breath sample of .227. The legal limit is .08.

His vehicle was impounded and he was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $2,500.

• Wasilla’s Jerry Lewis, 63, was charged with driving under the influence after officers responded to a REDDI (report every drunk driver immediately) report Nov. 24 at 8:43 p.m. The responding officer observed Lewis cross the centerline as he traveled over the Eagle River bridge inbound on the Glenn Highway, Shell said.

He provided a breath sample of .223, she said. Lewis was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $2,000.

Charges are merely accusations; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
