Service 48, Eagle River 47

Samathana Coy led Eagle River with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 48-47 loss to Service at the Lady T-Bird Hoops Classic at East High on Saturday, Dec. 21. Coy was also named to the all-tournament team. Lauren Frost added 13 points, eight boards and six steals for the Wolves. Kodiak won the title with a 56-45 win over East.

 

Nome 62, Eagle River 37

Coy led Eagle River with 12 points and four steals in the Wolves’ 62-37 loss to Nome on Friday, Dec. 20 at the T-Bird Classic.

 

Kodiak 62, Eagle River 10

Kodiak cruised to a 62-10 win in the first round of the T-Bird Classic on Friday, Dec. 20. Coy led the Wolves with five points.

 

BCS 20, Seward 12

Birchwood Christian School beat Seward JV 20-12 to claim third place at the Lumen Christi tournament Saturday, Dec. 21 at Lumen Christi. Kourtney Craig led the Warriors with six points. Bryce Vickers, who won the 3-point contest, and Audrea Roberts were named to the all-tournament team.

 

Wasilla 27, BCS 18

Vickers scored six points to lead BCS in a 27-18 loss to Wasilla’s C team Friday, Dec. 20 at Lumen Christi.

 

BCS 23, Lumen 20

BCS downed tournament-host Lumen Christi 23-20 in the first round Thursday, Dec. 19. Roberts and Craig led the Warriors with six points apiece.

 

Houston 43, Eagle River 30

Frost and Lauren Suckow scored 11 points apiece in Eagle River’s 43-30 loss to Houston in the Wolves’ season opener at home Dec. 17.

 

BOYS

Chugiak 56, Eagle River 52

Chugiak got the better of crosstown rival Eagle River in the seventh-place game of the Cougar Tip Off on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Service. Matt Oldenkamp scored 17 points to lead Chugiak to a 56-52 win. Thomas Jones’ 13 points led Eagle River.

 

Seward 43, BCS 34

Seward JV downed BCS 43-34 in the third-place game Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Lumen Christi tournament. Tyler Keiffer led Birchwood with 14 points. Keiffer and Dakotan Jones were named to the all-tournament team.

 

Effie Kokrine 74, BCS 19

Effie Kokrine cruised to a 74-19 win over BCS on Friday, Dec. 20. Dakota Jones scored nine points to lead the Warriors.

 

Nome 64, Eagle River 46

Thomas Jones scored 15 points in Eagle River’s 64-46 loss to Nome on Friday, Dec. 20 at Service. Eric Anderson chipped in 11 for Eagle River.

 

Kodiak 42, Chugiak 36

Alex Hess pumped in 15 points to the Mustangs, who fell 42-36 to Kodiak on Friday, Dec. 20 at Service.

 

BCS 55, Lumen 19

Keiffer racked up 25 points to help BCS down host Lumen Christi 55-19 on Thursday, Dec. 19. Dakota Jones added 19 points for BCS.

 

Bartlett 78, Eagle River 50

Thomas Jones (11 points) and R.J. Dirscherl (10) scored double digits for the Wolves in their 78-50 tournament-opening loss to Bartlett at the Cougar Tip Off on Thursday, Dec. 19 at Service.

 

Palmer 57, Chugiak 50

Oldenkamp (14 points) and Kenny Pegues (13) led Chugiak in its 57-50 loss to Palmer on Thursday, Dec. 19 at Service.
