“New Year baby gift list grows”

Local merchants have one more week to pledge gifts for the family of the Chugiak New Year baby.
The following gifts have been offered: an engraved silver cup by Dr. Thomas F. Green; $25 worth of dry cleaning from Alaska Cleaners; a $25 savings bond for the baby and a year’s subscription for the parents from the Knik Arm Courier; 100 gallons of heating oil from Peters Creek Fuel; a gift of jewelry for the mother from Chief Chugiak; a haircut for the mother from Ruth’s Beauty Salon; a $5 merchandise certificate from Peters Creek Shopping Center; a shampoo and set for the mother from Deborah’s House of Beauty; a $5 merchandise certificate in the infant department at Carrs Eagle River Food Center; cocktails for two at the Halfway House; a $5 merchandise certificate for the father from Harry’s Auto Parts; and an electric food warming dish from Matanuska Electric Association.
