Wolves double trouble for Bartlett

Eagle River 69, Bartlett 61, OT

Just seven days after beating Bartlett by eight points in overtime, visiting Eagle River needed an extra four minutes Monday, Feb. 4 to win by the same margin, 69-61 over the Golden Bears.

Eric Roberts scored a game-high 20 points to the lead the Wolves, who trailed the entire game until the final minute when Shaquan Rhoades knotted the game at 56-56. Rhoades and Hunter Hill scored 14 points apiece for Eagle River, which improved to 3-4 in the CIC.

 

East 84, Chugiak 59

Chugiak fell to 0-6 in the conference after losing 84-59 to host East on Monday, Feb. 4. Skyler Fullmer led the Mustangs with 18 points followed by Payton Fullmer with 16.

The Mustangs host nonconference Kodiak today (Feb. 7) at 7:30 p.m. before taking on rival Eagle River on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at ERHS.

 

BCS 55, Tok 41

Birchwood Christian got 19 points from Caleb Duplessis and 16 from Tyler Kieffer to take a 55-42 win over Tok on Feb. 2 at BCS.

 

Dimond 55, Chugiak 39

Visiting Dimond defeated Chugiak 55-39 on Saturday, Feb. 2. Payton Fullmer scored a team-high 15 points followed by Skyler Fullmer with 13.

 

Service 83, Chugiak 66

The Fullmer cousins combined for 44 points — Skyler 24, Payton 20 — but it wasn’t enough to get past Service, which downed Chugiak 83-66 on Jan. 31.

 

South 63, Eagle River 50

South handed Eagle River a 63-50 loss Jan. 31. Hill paced the Wolves with 14 points.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

East 62, Chugiak 56

Haley Scott pumped in 17 points to lead Chugiak in its 62-56 loss at East on Monday, Feb. 4. With the loss, Chugiak fell to 2-5 in the CIC.

The Mustangs opened the Lady Lynx Prep Shootout at Dimond on Wednesday, Feb. 6 against Kodiak, but a score was not available when the Star went to press.

 

Bartlett 46, Eagle River 23

Eagle River fell to 1-7 in the conference after a 46-23 loss at Bartlett on Monday, Feb. 4. Dana Panfil led the Wolves with 10 points.

Eagle River plays at Lumen Christi today (Feb. 7) at 5:30 p.m.

 

Dimond 77, Chugiak 26

Dimond cruised to a 77-26 win over host Chugiak on Saturday, Feb. 2. Anna Ingraham led the Mustangs with nine points.

 

Chugiak 67, Service 30

Scott (17 points) and Brandy Bookout (14) led Chugiak to a 67-30 win over Service on Jan. 31.

 

South 50, Eagle River 20

Lauren Frost’s seven points led Eagle River in a 50-20 loss to South on Jan. 31.

 

Tok 41, BCS 35

Aubry Becker had 11 points and Katelyn Becker and Ariel Rud added eight each in BCS’s 41-35 loss to Tok on Feb. 2.
