Eagle River girls win bowling league

Skiers mix it up at Valentine’s relay

Eagle River High’s girls finished atop the Anchorage Scholastic Bowling League standings following the final week of play Feb. 6 at Center Bowl.

The Wolves finished with 196 points, 11 ahead of second-place Bartlett. Chugiak’s girls (121) finished sixth.

Bartlett won the boys overall title with 236 points. Dimond (208) was second, Eagle River (160) was third and Chugiak (155) was fourth.

Keegan Crow rolled a high game 188 for Eagle River’s boys.

Chugiak’s Savannah Hudson finished the season with a high game 196. Shannon Jones rolled a high game 181 for Eagle River.

Service wins Valentine’s relay

Service’s mixed team of Jake Bassett, Ryan Terry, Matthew Muffoletto and Emma Tarbath won the Valentine’s Classic Relay at East High on Saturday, Feb. 8. The foursome finished in a combined time of 1 hour, 13 minutes, 21.5 seconds.

Chugiak’s David McPhetres, Annie Connely, Roan Hall and Hannah Booher placed eighth in 1:19:41. Jacob Walsh, Tessa Heagy, Bradan Tobin and Summer Frazier finished 17th in 1:29:59 to lead Eagle River.
