Eagle River’s Blake Halfpenny clears the puck out of the Wolves’ zone during the second period against Service on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Mac. Service won 7-3.

Service handed Eagle River a 7-3 Cook Inlet Conference loss on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the McDonald Center.

Brett Wood, Carter Jesiel and Michael Garrett scored goals for the fifth-place Wolves, who fell to 4-6-0 in the CIC.

Justin Lopez made 25 saves for Eagle River, but Andrew Cummings and Jason Frisk each netted hat tricks for the Cougars.

 

S/E 8, CER 1

Service/East cruised to an 8-1 girls hockey win over Chugiak/Eagle River on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Mac.

Autumn Sperry scored the only goal for Chugiak/Eagle River, which got 17 saves from Arika Mercer.

CER returns to action Friday, Jan. 11 against Mat-Su at the Brett Arena in Wasilla.
