Ten local grapplers place at state

Ten local grapplers placed at the ASAA/First National Bank Alaska 4A State Wrestling Championships on Saturday at Bartlett.
Tyler Wintersteen (126 pounds), Robert Huffer (152), Alex Medeiros (182) and Richard Burroughs (220) each turned in fourth-place finishes to lead 10th-place Chugiak.
Also placing for the Mustangs were Colt Jury (sixth at 145), Karson Forbush (fifth at 160) and Chase Jury (fifth at 132).
Chase Jury met Eagle River's Gavin Arnold in the fifth/sixth place match, pinning the Wolves freshman in 2:21. Arnold and Zack Luff (120) each finished sixth for Eagle River. Marcus Amico took fifth at 106 to lead the 15th-place Wolves.
South High scored 226 points to win the team title, edging second-place Wasilla by three and a half points.
